Sv.Grgur

Croatia

Sail.

I took the rare opportunity to spend some time with my family and friends on a boat visiting few Croatian islands. Once again, I’m very happy to have visited an island I have never been before.

Sv. Grgur (St. George) is a small uninhabited island with very interesting history, it was the site of a women’s prison in communist Yugoslavia. The brutal side of history still lies trapped between the walls of  infamous prison, escape was impossible.

The island is full of greenery and beaches, the landscape alternates from stone to forest. We have seen herds of deer coming to the beach in search for food. They are extremely sociable.
