Croatia

My childhood took place in the 90s, I was obsessed with tv series like the X-files, and regularly watched Star Trek. The UFO was more than present in my life, I was very interested in that topic. I know it will sound crazy (and this story is still hilarious to my friends), but in those years I saw a flying saucer in the sky. By pure coincidence, in 1999 a sort of UFO mystery was discovered on the Pag island. The Pag Triangle is a phenomenon that has intrigued me very much and somehow confirmed the possibility that I witnessed the visit of the little green ones.

Today Pag is not so much known for aliens, but as a party mecca for many. Even without that, it’s a special and unusual island. My big wish was to walk at least part of the ‘Life on Mars’ trail, ideal hiking combination offering a surreal, formidable landscape with beautiful, unique beaches. It was named after a David Bowie song, and it goes great with the UFO story, since this whole space seems mystical. This was one of my favorite Croatian trails, it’s not demanding (if there is no sun), yet very dynamic and interesting. It took me through various landscapes, from rocky hills and steep cliffs to sandy beaches and turquoise coves.

The other side of the island is more green, the impact of the bora wind is less. Tameness. I’ve finally spent few Spring days filled with afternoon sun showers and the fresh breeze on my skin. I moved around the island a lot and really enjoyed it, but I loved front row spots by the sea just to sit and breathe.
