I like to see as much as possible, but I also like to rationalize my time and enjoy it to the maximum. I don’t force myself to visit everything just because is there, sometimes I like to leave things for another visit.
Since I had one whole day at my disposal, I wanted to visit two beautiful cities under the protection of UNESCO, Aït Benhaddou and Ourzazate. It is only 180 km from Marrakesh, but it took me 4,5 hours to get there. The fact that I had to go back the same day became disheartening.
It looked something like this: waking up early, driving over the Atlas mountain which really provided beautiful views, but it took quite a long time. Arrival in Aït Benhaddou at noon and walking tour with a guide in the hottest weather. The tour lasted about an hour, followed by lunch and departure to Ourzazate. In Ourzazate tour was shorter, with little mint tea break and return to Marrakesh, an additional 4.5 hours of driving. I think this is my most unprofitable trip so far, almost 10 hours in the car for 2 hours of sightseeing and almost no free time. Not everything in life is perfect even though the locations were cinematic, literally.
TIP: visit this beautiful cities only if you are going to spend few nights in Sahara, otherwise it’s quite tiring.

I hope you like this little photo diary I put together to share my time adventuring around Aït Benhaddou and Ourzazate. Let me know if you have visited Morocco and how did you like it. If anyone has any feedback I’d be so appreciative to receive your comments and questions below.
