A hippie town full of rumours that Jimi Hendrix, Bob Marley, Bob Dylan and the Rolling Stones had made their home through 70’s. I think this fact made the city quite more liberal than the rest of Morocco. Tourists don’t hesitate to take off their clothes and go to the beach, restaurants serve (pricey) alcohol and generally a good atmosphere prevails.
Arriving in Essaouira meant a little respite from the Moroccan chaos. Seeking beauty in the shapes, lines, shades and lights, walking barefoot on the beach just to feel the sand between my toes and the salty wind ruffling my hair. Letting my mind wander off into the vast nothingness. Slow. Just doing the thing I love most, traveling, growing skills and creating memories I will cherish till the end of my days.

I hope you like this little photo diary I put together to share my time adventuring around Essaouira. Let me know if you have visited Morocco and how did you like it. If anyone has any feedback I’d be so appreciative to receive your comments and questions below.

I just love the various shades of gold in these photos. All your Morocco photos show “warmth” to me. It’s nice to see since its so cold and wet here!
