2020 hit us very hard. There is no normal. Life is weird. I was feeling really down about missing my travels this year. I needed it more than ever. Actually we all need some extra love and excitement in 2020. While I wait for the opportunity to resume my international adventures and cross more things off the travel bucket list, I’m taking advantage of exploring some Croatian islands.
I love spending time outdoors, but on the hot summer day that means lying on the beach, preferring in the shade. Vrnik island is one of the many in Korčula archipelago. No cars, no roads, no shops, two restaurants and only couple of families that presently live in this picturesque village.
It can seem daunting, but traveling on your own is incredibly liberating, even for a day. It was a very hot and heavy day and also filled with so much joy and peace. I read the whole book, swam in the very clear sea and rested quite a bit. Perfect day.
Fun fact: the island is well known for its deep stone quarries (29 of them).

I hope you like this little photo diary I put together to share my time adventuring around Vrnik island. Let me know if you have visited Croatia and how did you like it. If anyone has any feedback I’d be so appreciative to receive your comments and questions below.

I am glad you had such a nice quiet day! It must be nice to be able to easily travel to different islands without a lot of difficulties. I am a bit jealous. Thanks for sharing the photos!
