Prvić II

Croatia

Croatia has two islands with the same name.

This post is about the uninhabited island in the Kvarner Gulf. For the island near Šibenik, see Prvić.

I love the view of the Prvić, the play of shadows on the largest uninhabited island in Croatia. Although most of the island is inaccessible as its coastal areas are made up of steep barren cliffs, on the western side the island’s plateau can be reached. This side has several beaches too.

Prvić is considered the windiest Croatian island, bora wind blows in gusts on average 200 days per year. Therefore there are no trees on the island, but mostly low Mediterranean plants that serve as a source of food for sheep and bees. For me it’s always a perfect place for unbridled swimming.

TIP: Easiest way to reach the island is from the small town Baška on island of Krk.

I hope you like this little photo diary I put together to share my time adventuring around Prvić Island. Let me know if you have visited Croatia and how did you like it. If anyone has any feedback I’d be so appreciative to receive your comments and questions below.
