I was standing alone in the unknown part of the world (again) ready to embark on a journey and unfold new lessons (as they always do along on the road).

It was a Sunday and the air was unusually warm for January. I browsed popular Marsaxlokk fish market, it’s a fascinating opportunity to mix with the locals and to experience everyday life. This place is famous for its colourful fishing boats called luzzu, enchanting sight that makes Maltese fishing harbours so unique and unforgettable.

I live a life led by an unrelenting curiosity and desire to explore the unknown, the older I get the moments of stillness in nature I cherish more. Not far away from the bustle of the fish market I found myself surrounded by the wild coastlines. A beautiful natural pool carved into the Maltese coast, St Peter’s Pool was an absolutely idyllic setting to rest, restore and recharge. A place where I was able to take everything back to basics, just me and my camera, alone with my thoughts, exploring both the emotional experience and the essence of travel. Flat rocks provided a comfortable resting place for me, while the calm azure waters were inviting adventurous swimmers. I have admiration for people who took the jump into the sea in January.

I guess when in Marsaxlokk, dinning at one of the many seafood restaurants that line the harbours is a must, so I did it.
