Mdina

Malta

Mdina is a fortified medieval town enclosed in bastions, sitting on the top of a hill overlooking large parts of Malta.

It’s a super small town, but no matter the size of the place or destination each trip becomes an internal journey for me. There is no sadness which, as I walk, doesn’t fade away. With each step the world changes and something changes in me.

Mdina in winter time is a quiet and serene place, it was thrilling to leisurely wander and think about the various nonsense in my head. The soft yellow colour of the sandstone walls, lonely trees, light of the morning sun and cold wind gave this town unforgettable atmosphere.

TIP: Rabat is town outside Mdina’s walls and if you spend an hour walking around, checking out the cafes, local churches or shops, you’ll feel as if you’ve got a glimpse of everyday Maltese life.
