A world away, without leaving the country.
I think back to the days where I used to find myself in places I could never have imaged. So many simple, irreplaceable memories get me through some tough times and give me hope and excitement. I wandered cities, alleyways, markets, but sometimes is the best when holiday feels like home. Time to relax and heal is much needed, to experience all the little things that are actually big things. To smile. To laugh. To listen. To speak. To walk. To swim. To belong. To understand.
Hvar Island is the most famous one, but it does not consist of only one town. Compared to the Hvar Town, Stari Grad is a quiet, lazy place and was my home for almost a week. Finding a sunny spot where I can spend a whole day was my biggest preoccupation. Already missing this state of mind, waking up and not knowing where the day will take me.
TIP: Stari Grad is the oldest town in Croatia. Visit the Petar Hektorović Fortress, 16th century house built as a summer residence by the famous poet.

I hope you like this little photo diary I put together to share my time adventuring around Hvar Island. Let me know if you have visited Croatia and how did you like it. If anyone has any feedback I’d be so appreciative to receive your comments and questions below.

I have been going to Croatia for 14 years and yet despite having visited many places and islands, I miss Hvar, do you believe it is more beautiful than I imagined it? Thanks for having told Stari Grad!
