Short summer vacation and countless islands that dot the Adriatic coast. This time the decision fell on the island of Hvar.
Although I want to visit as many Croatian islands as possible I’m aware that life is not about milestones, but moments. Deep sea, fresh air, sun kissed skin, tasty food, good company.
For years Hvar town has been a popular summer location, it means crowded too. It’s amazing that so many people can fit in the small bay town, but they do. Compared to the rest of the island, it’s like a hive. Everything is buzzing. If you travel to Hvar during the height of peak season it may feel impossible to escape that, but actually it’s easy to get wonderfully lost in these streets if you are willing to take a few steps away from the main square.
TIP: High above overlooking the red roofs and stone walls of the old town and the blue waters of the Paklinski Islands in the distance, lies my favourite Hvar viewpoint. Take in the incredible view of Hvar town from fortress Fortica.

I hope you like this little photo diary I put together to share my time adventuring around Hvar. Let me know if you have visited Croatia and how did you like it. If anyone has any feedback I’d be so appreciative to receive your comments and questions below.

This place is GORGEOUS! It reminds me of all the small Italian villages I would have visited as a child. My parents took us there often and I just LOVED how beautiful everything was!
Great post.

That is absolutely gorgeous. I have always wanted to travel to many of the countries in Europe and Croatia was on my list. Maybe someday.
