Plitvička jezera

Croatia

I’m feeling grateful to have spent time exploring the natural wonders of my home country. As fun as it is to venture far and wide and visit different countries, I’m very passionate about spending time discovering Croatia.

The National Park Plitvice Lakes is made up of sixteen lakes that interconnect by a series of stunning waterfalls, set in deep woodland. Sometimes there was too much magic to capture in a photo. Throughout park I was followed by the constant sound of water gurgling, either slowly dripping or in a massive cascading waterfall. The more I travel the more I realize how lucky I am to call Croatia home and how beautifully diverse this country is.

TIP: The lakes are worth visiting at any time of a year, they are different with every season. I dream about returning here in the depths of winter when Plitvice become frozen fairy tale.

  3. Jawdroppingly beautiful there. I particularly loved the still reflections in the lake and those wonderful leaves. I almost felt that I could smell the freshness in the air, and the scent of the foliage. Being a tourist in your own home is a wonderful thing; you see things so differently when you try to imagine it through someone else’s eyes.
