København

Denmark

Stunning streets filled with pastel buildings, an endless parade of bikes and stylish people.  For me Copenhagen is like stepping into a postcard.

The thought of experiencing a city on two wheels scared me, but Copenhagen changed my mind. This is a city that invites you to cycle, I just had to jump in the saddle. Everybody does it. As a first time visitor in Copenhagen the amount of bicycles on the streets was overwhelming, soon I started to love it. Friends and I spent the day riding through Copenhagen taking in the beautiful weather, it made such a drastic difference to seeing the sights by foot. After experiencing Danish life for a few days, I’m starting to see why the Danes are so famously happy.

While here, be sure to visit Christiania, an intriguing little place indeed. It exists today as an autonomous community within Copenhagen that is completely self governed. Exploring this area was one of most interesting things I did during my visit.

TIP: For your own safety, visitors are advised not to film nor photograph in Christiania.

  2. What beautiful photos. I consider Copenhagen one of the most photogenic places I’ve ever been. I seriously lucked out SO HARD with photos!! I’ve got a black and white photo of the Superkilen hanging in my bathroom today (so cool that you went too!) and I’m seriously considering adding another above my dining table, but I’m wondering if that’s a little TOO Copenhagen-crazy…

  3. I absolutely love your photos!!! I’ve only been to Bornholm, Denmark and also explored by bike. Everyone was so happy there. Why is it dangerous to take pictures in Christiania?

    1. Visitors are advised not to film nor photograph in Christiania, especially not in the area in and around Pusher Street, mainly due to the hash dealing, which is illegal in Denmark. :)
