Full Moon Party. Thailand has long been associated with a thriving party scene. I heard so many stories about this party and I was not going to miss it when I made plans for this trip.
The massive party takes place on the beach on Koh Phangan. People from all over the world come every month to join the celebration and dance all night long. The full moon illuminates the beach and is reflected in the water. Imagine a white sand beach, an endless row of palm trees, blue sea and several thousand people covered in neon paint. All along the beach there are vendor stands selling little plastic buckets (the kind kids build sand castles with) made into big cocktails. The beach is so big, there are multiple areas set up, playing different types of music and offering everything from fire dancing, body painting and fireworks. The bunny ears on our heads were the best way to keep my group together. I have wonderful memories and so many blurred pictures. I don’t want to come here again because it would never be as much fun.
