I sound enthusiastic about almost everywhere I go, but this is one of my favorite cities. I simply adore Porto.
My knowledge about Portugal was limited to architects, football players, explorers and wine, in that particular order. This trip has been so sweet, beautiful and surprising. I learned a lot. Porto is a very atmospheric, historical city built along the hills overlooking the Douro river with bold new architecture by renowned architects (Gustave Eiffel, Rem Koolhaas, Alvaro Siza Vieira). Old and modern architecture connected with each other by thousands of stairways. Colorful tiles and clothes hang on the balconies are part of the scenery. I always wanted to soak up the city’s atmosphere and wine, Port wine, of course. This is the right place for it, in the city of Gaia, just south of the river.
TIP: Porto Walkers – I have been on many walking tours in different cities. This is walking tour guided by locals with interesting and entertaining stories.

I hope you like this little photo diary I put together to share my time adventuring through Porto. Let me know if you have visited Portugal and how did you like it. If you need any more recommendations, drop me a line.
