Trip to Bratislava was a birthday gift for my sister. Sadly, due to the bad weather she didn’t catch the train, I went without her.
I love big European cities but there is something more personal about experiencing city like Bratislava, it makes me feel lucky that I’m not sharing every moment with a thousand other tourists. Bratislava sits on the Danube less than an hour’s train ride from Vienna and it’s a small city, very small, almost entirely walkable. Crossing into the historic, traffic-free center of town the streets are lined with small shops and bars. I was looking for a birthday gift / souvenir for my sister, I bought her Slovakian chocolate. With good chocolate I can’t go wrong.
I enjoyed the atmosphere of the city, walking around the old streets, ditching the map and venturing to the most obscure corners, to uncover the true nature of Bratislava.
TIP: Whenever I travel I’m searching for a place to see the city from above. At the top of Novy Most (New Bridge), 85 meters above the ground is a UFO bar and a sightseeing deck with amazing views.
I hope you like this little photo diary I put together to share my time adventuring through Bratislava. Let me know if you have visited Slovakia and how did you like it. If anyone has any feedback I’d be so appreciative to receive your comments and questions below.

This place looks amazing! I can’t help but laugh when I see that little old lady’s reaction to the statue.
